The Open Doors project aims to tackle isolation, loneliness and its effects and to bring a positive change into the lives of New Scots living in West Dunbartonshire and beyond.
Climate Challenge Initiative
ISARO Climate Challenge Initiative is an innovative project aiming to engage communities in reducing their carbon footprint. The project raises awareness on how households contribute to climate change and encourage them to take action.
ISARO Climate Action Community Hub provides free access to inspiring educational resources and hosts regular climate conversations.
Children and Young People
ISARO Community Initiative runs a range of activities for children and young people to support them in reaching their full potential.
ISARO organises multicultural celebrations to bring diverse communities together to share culture and strengthen community cohesion.
ISARO facilitates heritage research from time to time. A case in point is our “Everyday People Untold Stories”. Everyday People Untold Stories was an innovative participatory oral history project that took place in 2015. Through gathering stories of people from ethnic backgrounds who had settled in West Dunbartonshire and the surrounding area, we conducted research into the positive impact made by different ethnic groups in Scotland since World War One.
ISARO offers volunteering opportunities to develop new skills, gain work experience, and improve self-esteem and confidence. Volunteers also get to make new connections in the community.
